MICROSOFT OFFICE 365

Remember when it first became possible for workers to access the server when they were out of the office? Or rather, can you remember a time when they didn’t? Since mobile technology transformed the way we do business, the concept of an “office on the move” has become plain, everyday reality. But as any IT manager knows, this simple ease-of-use is anything but simple to administrate – as issues with clustering, infrastructure and exchange management have proven.

Maybe you already make use of SharePoint®, Exchange and Lync®, the suites with which Microsoft® has steadily led the drive towards keeping office workers linked. Now, the evolution has come full circle: Office 365™ can be called the grand design of Microsoft products, optimising their previous operating programs in the way they were intended to function – as one.

Easy migration to the cloud
Do you like the idea of being able to work anywhere you choose, when you choose, and on nearly any device you choose? To access your email, contacts and calendar, and view and edit online documents, regardless of where you are? With Office 365, web-enabled versions of your previous Microsoft suites allow easy migration to the cloud, so your office is never out of reach. 365 days of the year.

But it must be difficult to install, right? Wrong. Not only is all this functionality easy to install – it’s flexible, scalable and simple to use. Here’s how Office 365’s improved suites can assist a small, midsize or enterprise business, and simplify your IT duties.

Less managing, fewer headaches
When your business is growing, so do your email requirements. So the on-premises server system you’re using has to undergo constant backups, migration, patches and recoveries. To keep things manageable, maybe you’ve set up a conservative mailbox size for employees. Only today’s business is so dependent on emailing, it’s hard to stay within that limit.

With Office 365 Exchange Online, managing mail becomes easy: you have 25 GB of space and can write emails of up to 25 MB in size. And none of it is onsite, which means less managing, fewer headaches, and more productivity. Want to use your existing domain name to create professional email addresses? No problem. With the aid of Outlook Web App, you’ll enjoy the familiar Outlook® efficiency whether you’re at home, in the office, working offline or through almost any web browser.

Not only that, but Office 365 automatically updates your calendar, while contacts are also automatically updated and reachable through almost any device – including Macs, PCs, iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows® phones, as well as Microsoft Windows Mobile. To schedule a meeting, simply view your colleagues’ calendars side by side to see their availability and set the date.

Keep everyone on the same page
When it comes to project management, you can keep your team’s important documents on Sharepoint Online, allowing you to share and track them so everyone knows the current status of the project, even when they’re miles away. Access to critical business information is possible and you’ll control who can read and share it. You can even create a public-facing website with a custom domain name.

As an extension to document access, Office Web Apps works smoothly with Word, Excel®, PowerPoint® and OneNote®, allowing you to edit documents from your web browser. You can work with others remotely on the same document and see who is editing what part of it. And you can view Office documents on mobile devices while ensuring consistency when viewed on desktop Office applications.

Bring people together, when a place can’t

Tired of the hit-and-miss communications we’ve all experienced through the web? The next-generation communication service of Lync Online ensures more engaging and productive communications that boost productivity and reduce your IT headaches.

Now, your workers can connect with colleagues and clients through rich presence, instant messaging, PC to PC audio/video calls and online meetings. These web conferences can be enriched by desktop sharing, online whiteboards and presentations. What’s more, Windows Live® Messenger allows quick communication with 365 users.

Security you can count on
With all kinds of data flowing in and out of your company from multiple locations and devices, you might have some understandable IT concerns about security. Don’t. Along with a strict privacy policy, enterprise-grade reliability and multiple data center locations, Office 365 boasts a 99.9% uptime, financially backed guarantee.

Your system is supported by access secure features, intrusion monitoring by Microsoft for unusual or suspicious activity, and regular security audits. The Office 365 services have ISO 27001 certification and completed SAS70 Type I and II audits.

One tool for everyone, everywhere
Companies are no stranger to the team principle. And chances are you’re well on your way to achieving that. Office 365 allows your IT department to combine the common programs your workers are used to and make them available everywhere. In short, by bringing together these tools it enhances the greatest tool any company counts on: the people who drive it.
